Winter Olympics Sochi Fun at CCS

The cold weather didn't dampen the enthusiasm of the students at CCS on Friday, March 3. The student council had been planning a winter Olympic event for quite some time, but because of the extreme cold temperatures, it had to be postponed until the Thursday afternoon before the march break. The sun was shining and the temperatures reached an almost balmy -4C. Students had a wonderful afternoon, participating in an interesting assortment of events, from human curling, to Sochi snow-pass to tug-of-war. Each team was able to come in from the cold for a while to enjoy a warming drink of hot chocolate. The excitement was obvious as cheers could be heard all over the playground. The day closed with a closing ceremony in the gym. Ribbons were handed out to the three winning teams and Mr. Postma closed the day with prayer.
