Blessing Others Sharing with N2N

The Neighbour to Neighbour (N2N) food bank is across the parking lot from Calvin Christian school, giving our students unique opportunities to share their blessings with others. Each October, the CCS holds a food drive for N2N, bringing hundreds of pounds of donations to their shelves. While delivering the non-perishable food products to the food bank last fall, someone noticed how pleased the staff were when they found a large bottle of laundry detergent and a box with many bars of soap.

This comment brought Student Council to focus their winter drive on collecting toiletries instead of food. On Thursday, February 13, the last school day before Valentine's Day, the students at CCS dressed in red, pink and white and brought their donations to the foyer as they filed into the gym for an assembly. The focus of the assembly was God's love for us and our expression of that love by sharing with others.

The N2N drive was one way for us to share God's love with our neighbours. It turned out to be a very real blessing. The day before, the N2N staff were concerned about the low supply of bathroom products and how to replenish the shelves. When the students from grade 8B showed up with over 300 pounds of toiletries, they were thrilled!! Thank you CCS students for your generosity!
