Cross Country @ CCS

Cross Country season is upon us!  The Cross Country team is open to students in Grades 3-8 who love to run longer distances. We will be starting our season next week already with some training runs. Students in Grades 3-8 are encouraged to come out and run with us at the relevant practices during recess times. We welcome and encourage runners of all levels to come out and run with us on the dates listed on the schedule below. Teams will be chosen based on practices and sportsmanship between September 12-23. At the beginning of October, we plan to have a few after-school/off-site practices for our Grades 5-8 Cross Country Team. The Golden Horseshoe Invitational Meet on October 13 will conclude all of our season. Please feel free to contact the following coaches if you have any questions: Mr. Little (7/8 coach), Mrs. Koolsbergen (5/6 coach), Mrs. Harsevoort (3/4 coach).  If you are a parent and love to run and would like to help out with the team, we’d also love to hear from you. For off-site practices, we will need a few parent volunteers to be a point person or run/bike with the team.

Practice schedule:
Grade 3-4 (starting September 12):

  • Monday, Tuesday and Thursday- second recess
  • No after-school practices
  • Meet is on October 13

Grades 5-8 (starting September 12):

  • After school practices: October 3, 5 and 11
  • Meet is on October 13
