Hamilton Campus
547 West 5th Street, Hamilton ON

Each year Calvin Christian School students are invited to help raise funds for special causes. In the past, our students have raised thousands of dollars for important causes such as City Kidz, the Terry Fox Foundation, Edu Deo, and Jump Rope for Heart.

This year, our focus will be Safe Families Canada, Hamilton Halton, which is a ministry of volunteers from local churches supporting families in crisis situations. Safe Families wraps around families with 'Circles of Support' to strengthen and stabilize parents and children as a unit, prevent children from entering foster care or experiencing neglect and abuse, and create lasting relationships with our neighbours. Safe Families opens their hearts, opens their arms, and opens their homes.

In order to raise funds for Safe Families, we will once again have our students participate in a walk-a-thon on Monday, October 23rd (rain date is Tuesday, October 24th). Younger students will walk with their older buddy class. Grades K-3 will walk between  3-6  km near the school property, while grades 4-8 will walk 10 km. In addition to the route with their buddy class, grades 4-8 students will complete a 3 km route two times that day. That route will cross West 5th Street at the stop lights.

Please contact your child’s teacher if you would like to walk with that class. They will let you know the times to meet the class outside.

Please donate online HERE using these instructions:

  1. Enter your desired donation in the amount box
  2. Choose "Hamilton" from the drop-down menu
  3. In the message box write, "CCS West 5th Walkathon" or "CCS Unity Campus" (whichever campus your child/walker attends)

As a school community, the West 5th Campus hopes to raise at least $8000. If they reach their goal, Mr. Boonstra will set up his office on the school roof for a day! Wow! Can we do it!

The Unity Campus hopes to raise $2000! If they do, the staff will get a pie in the face!

Thank you for your participation as we learn more about those in need and how we can support them.
