COVID-19 Impacts Unity Campus Plans
It is difficult to look at the messages communicated a short time ago - first hire, information evening, keys to the building - but the truth is, COVID-19, has also impacted CCS' plans to open up the Unity Campus this September. Given the ongoing health and financial crisis that has seized our country, indeed our world, the CCS board of directors felt that September 2020 is not the right time to open the doors to the Unity Campus.
However, we are committed to providing Christian education to the many families still seeking a Christ centered learning experience for their children, so the board has decided to simply delay the opening until September 2021! A number of factors played into this decision as we recognized that families were counting on sending their children to our second campus. As a result, the board has also tasked the school's administrative team with the task of accommodating the Unity families at the West 5th campus.
The administrative team is already exploring ways to welcome the added families to the West 5th campus and we are confident that Christian education will be provided to the families seeking it.
In the meantime, we have the gift of time - time to complete the Unity campus renovation, time to plan a comprehensive capital campaign, and time to welcome even more families to join us in this exciting endeavour.
