CHRISTMAS MUSIC AT CCS

Do you like Christmas Music? What is your favourite song? Why do you like it? These were the questions asked to people at CCS alike. We went around asking a few teachers and students the above questions and we came up with some unique responses.

We only had a couple people that disliked the newer Christmas songs or those with more of a pop focus, not a classical or traditional sound to it.

Popular responses were about loving the melody, having a good Christmas message, and even loving to sing the chorus at the top of their lungs.

Some song favourites included Jingle Bells, Mary Did You Know, Angels We Have Heard on High, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Deck the Halls, Go Tell it on the Mountain, The Hallelujah Chorus, The Promise, Away in a Manger, Holy Night, Silent Night, A Few of my Favourite Things, Let all Mortal Flesh Keep Silent, Joy to the World, O Come All Ye Faithful, and many others!

Over the past 2 weeks, the Junior Choir, Recorder Choir, Bell Choir, and Senior Choir all perform these songs and shared the Christmas message at Juravinski Hospital, Wentworth Heights, ReSource Thrift Shop, Wellingstone Senior’s Residence, and Hamilton City Centre Mall.

If you enjoy Christmas music then you can come to our Christmas assembly at 9:15 on Friday morning where we play tons of it! We will be singing songs including Joy to the World, Angels we have Heard on High, and Mary did You Know.

We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
