CAPITAL CAMPAIGN LEADER  
18 Month Contract (Full Time)
Reports to:  The COO (The Principal) of Calvin Christian School

The demand and need for Christian Education in the Greater Hamilton Area has never been greater, and the Membership of the Calvin Christian School Society has voted to move forward with acquiring and building additional capacity in Caledonia to serve the growing Hamilton-south and surrounding population. The property the Lord has provided is beautiful, and we are now ready to build to meet the growing demand!  


Role Description:

To support the effort we are seeking a Capital Campaign Leader to manage day-to-day activities of our upcoming capital campaign over an 18 month period. As a paid staff member of Calvin Christian School (CCS) who will report directly to the Principal, the Campaign Leader is a core member of the Campaign Executive Committee (CEC) and will be the primary driver of the campaign. Supported by the CEC and a 3rd Party advisory resource, the ideal candidate has a genuine heart for the gospel and passionately believes in the importance of Christian education to future generations.  Rooted in the CCS community the successful candidate will be marketing oriented and is friendly to interact with new people. This person will oversee campaign activities in accordance with the Board-approved Strategic Plan. As such, he/she will manage the overall marketing communications efforts for the campaign and will be directly involved with key strategic meetings. In addition, this role will oversee one or two Paid Telephone Canvasser positions, plus will coordinate the efforts of several volunteer canvasser teams. Initial training and ongoing advisory support for this role will be provided by our 3rd party strategic advisory resource for the campaign.

Details:

  • Start Date: June 2021
  • Full Time (40hrs/wk), and may include certain evenings and Saturdays for meetings
  • Reports to the CCS Principal
  • Accountability to the Campaign Executive Committee (CEC)
  • Collaborative supervisory responsibility for 1-2 paid telephone canvasser positions
  • Overseeing/coordinating responsibility for ~ 10 x 2-person volunteer canvasser teams
  • Work with CEC to define & deploy campaign branding
  • Oversee & execute the marketing & communications plan for the campaign  
  • Prepare physical marketing materials (binders & presentation materials, signage, props, etc)
  • Working with CCS digital providers & resources, prepare digital marketing materials (web-site, video clips, social media content, etc)
  • Prepare other communication materials (letters, emails, etc)
  • Schedule and deploy marketing waves (launch wave + future waves)
  • Prepare Campaign tools (pledge forms, mailers, etc)
  • Following the strategic segmentation, manage the confidential donor list
  • Donation tracking & reporting, with regular communication with/to CCS finance
  • Participate in team training sessions
  • Deploy & coordinate paid telephone canvasser(s) & volunteer canvassing teams
  • Attend key strategic meetings
  • Weekly progress reporting to CEC
  • Attend bi-weekly CEC meetings to review and discuss campaign progress
  • Attend monthly Board meetings to update on campaign progress
  • Attend semi-annual Membership meetings to update on campaign progress

  • Help inspire the community to achieve the campaign fundraising goal
  • Be a positive voice for Christian Education and for the campaign
  • Rally support for the campaign throughout the community and beyond
  • Maintain accurate records

Skills, Traits & Qualifications :

  • Existing familiarity and relationships within the greater CCS & Hamilton community
  • Experience and/or demonstrated aptitude in marketing & communications
  • Experience with digital & social media an asset
  • Experience with Excel & Microsoft Office 
  • Positive, friendly personality
  • Goal-oriented
  • Organized & pro-active
  • Strong believer in Christian education
