Our Grade Five Retreat.

The grade five classes went on a retreat in September. First, we started off our day with devotions. We learned about a mustard seed. Jesus told this parable to show how little things can become big things in our lives.

Next we played Golden Nuggets. In Golden Nuggets you have to try to steal the other team's gold nuggets (bean bags) and bring them back to your mine. Once you get in the other team's mine they can't tag you until you step out of the other team's mine. Only three people can guard the mine and if you get tagged you have to go to jail, but if you get tagged by your own teammate you are free from jail. Only two people can guard the jail.

After we played our game we hopped on the bus and left to go to Dundas Valley and started on our hike. We saw lots of miniature waterfalls, beautiful trees and streams. Once we got to the end of the trail we came to a clearing and ate lunch. Then we hiked back and started on our way to the Wayne Gretzky Centre.

When we got to the Wayne Gretzky Centre we had to pass a swim test. Then, we went to the pool. The big pool was so cool! There was a rock-climbing wall in the pool. The rock-climbing wall was on an angle so when you fell you landed in water. There were also diving podiums. Finally, there was the big water slide. It was so awesome! It was big, blue, super fast, and it went outside the building! When we had to leave we got on the bus and left for school. It was a great day and super fun!
