Grade 3 enjoyed a field trip to the South Wentworth Plowing Match in Ancaster on Friday, October 7.  We learned about different plowing techniques and possible ways the pioneers may have tilled the land when they moved to this area.  It would have been very hard work! We definitely would have liked to own a draft horse if we were pioneers.  We also heard about how important dirt is to our world and how the farmers work hard to keep the rich silt in the soil.  The farmer even showed us how to test our own soil with simply a jar, water and some dish soap.  Finally, the students were amazed by how many things are made from corn, even things you can't eat like toys.  We thank God for all those who know how to till our land and provide good food for us.
